Podbean is a free app and website students can use to create their own Podcasts. My students used the app on my phone to make their own weather reports (lessons will be up on Teachers Pay Teachers soon). I usually have my students read their papers to the class after writing them to practice their pronunciation; however, I thought this was a nice change for them to record their paper instead. They absolutely LOVED it! Check out my blog on my Blended Learning: The First Attempt for some of the process I used and a glimpse into the lesson. I created a Screencast for my students so they understood how to use the app and could use it without much assistance from me. This video is a little different screencast, as I had to take screenshots of the app on my phone, upload them into iMovie, and record a voice over to mimic a screencast. The end result was the same as a regular screencast, and my students followed along as they do with the other videos. If you are going to use the podcast to listen to other podcasts, or have your students listen to other podcasts, there is the ability to search different podcasts within the app. Another great feature of the app, is there is an audiobook link at the top with many different genres of books. Please note that not every book is here, but it is a great option to have for a blended learning rotation group or for a student who struggles to read. How to start the app. 1. Download app onto your phone through your apps store. 2. Create an account. How to record.
7. Then, to send your recording, find the recording you want to send and click the half box with an up arrow. 8. Choose where to save it: Facebook, Twitter, or simply Click publish for other options 9. After clicking the "publish" button, find your recording again and click the three dots next to it. 10. Click "share". 11. Choose where to send it: messgae, mail, twitter, Google Classroom, etc.
